Welding is an essential joining technique in the metalworking sector. Over 2, 500, 000 jobs in Europe are, directly or indirectly, connected to it.
Aim

Implement a qualification system to be up taken by European employees in welding/fabrication companies.

Create

Create a training guideline recognised at European level to qualify personnel in the Health, Safety and Environment.

develop training

Develop new training materials with Information and Communication Technologies, including a serious game.

Promote

To promote the transparency and recognition of competences by using European tools.

Boost Health

To boost Health, Safety and Environmental skills’ capital of the human resources in welding sector.

Harmonise

A harmonised certification system to assure companies’ compliance with ENISO3834.

About HSE-Joining

Welding is an essential joining technique in the metalworking sector. Over 2, 500, 000 jobs in Europe are, directly or indirectly, connected to it. Regarding the quality requirements of welded products, in one hand, EN ISO 3834 “Quality Requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials” has been developed. On the other hand, no European or International standards dealing with environment and safety of personnel specifically related to welding are currently available.

HSE-Joining AIM is

HSE Joining aim is: to provide a broader scope of information and training tools on Health, Safety and Environment to joining professionals in order to increase safe working environments

HSE-Joining Objectives

  • To develop a serious game to raise awareness on safe work environment
  • To develop training materials and an assessment database in the following topics:
  • To create a training guideline recognised at European level to qualify personnel in Health, Safety and Environment in the Joining field.
  • To develop training and assessment materials
HSE-Joining Impact

  • To develop training tools and materials which match and cover market needs at European level that will be afterwards tested, implemented and translated in 4 countries (Belgium, Italy, Portugal and Romania);
  • To boost Health, Safety and Environmental skills’ capital of the human resources in welding sector;
  • To facilitate mobility of workers among European countries, making use of the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET).
  • To promote the transparency and recognition of competences by using European tools, such as the European Qualifications Framework and learning outcomes approach
